![]() My Microsoft Hotmail account was hacked 12 years ago and because Microsoft was as useless then as they are now, I did what I could and that was to inform my contacts that I was no longer using the Microsoft address. I think that they should call this breach "cuckooing" Because the hackers are the cuckoo. Although I lost the account due to the severity of the breach, I have since gotten all my data transferred to another, new, Microsoft account. Thank you!ĮDIT (09/28/19): Thanks to the beauty of reddit, a moderator from r/Microsoft created another ticket and personally saw to the completion of my request. I have read on reddit before of people solving their issues this way due to the visibility of the posting. I have been a supporter of microsoft since I have been a child and I would love some support in return. All I want to know is that someone from Microsoft is actively working on this issue. They filled out a global escalation form on my behalf and told me to contact microsoft support if they have not reached out to me in 24 hours. It has now been 24 hours and still no response. I have called Microsoft support over 10 times and only once has anyone been helpful. Everytime I go to sign into the account, it forces me to reset my password but because I do not have access to the hackers account, I cannot send a verification code to it. Therefore, the hacker was able to change some of my privacy settings and change the two factor verification to a temporary email instead of my cell phone. My Microsoft account was compromised along with the email I use to log into it.
